Upon a Wish

poem

That you may capitulate in the month of May
Not show your face a single day
Nor come before the spring sets in
That’s not for me to say
Or chance my luck upon a wish
Prolong my hope, October ish
Surely that’s not a prize to over bear
Not a burden you must adhere
A dally among the love affairs
Of sumptuous love that has no fear
But tread wearily, a humble course
That you find wisdom at its source
In love’s platitudes find recourse…
