Unfortunately one of the attractions of "modern" capitalism is how one stacks up against another -- and the apparent joy of its winners, peering down from the ivory tower -- That said - I think the Thatcher quote says multitudes [Thank you Rupert Murdoch] but I believe the state should be involved in [for instance, health] a healthier society makes for a more productive society and many other benefits.
