Thought-provoking piece, Rip -- one can only imagine that by "confronting" one's shadow it would be a good thing -- help come to terms, conquer, understand, develop tolerance, develop empathy, change, evolve oneself -- many less-enlightened than yourself appear to ignore "the shadow" - hence, live blissfully ignorant existences -- and very happily! But certainly not for everybody!
