This can be a dilemma - some women even when beaten will not leave - my mother always says if a man ever hit her she would leave (i.e. my father - which he would never do anyway); she also says, and believes some women like being hit - and my mother is not stupid. And I have witnessed this So if such a women were to stand up for herself - she would get hit even harder. And still not leave. ???Personally I don't get it - neither does my mother.
