poem
Lost am I in swirls of gray
To sink in times, and
Wash away
The times of pain
Am I insane
Is this ingrained
With climbs I’ve made
And lessons learned
The new day dawn
Once over the falls
And back again
It grates and gnaws
I know the score
The new day poor
The scrapes and flaws
The road part taken
Like Tim Hardin
Petite detours
And routes mistaken
God forsaken
And mystic hues
The times I choose
“Heads”, fuck, you lose
But tails you win
The times are thin
Times on tinder
Shake ‘n remember
Lost your tender
Wake — disseminate
The road part taken
Out on a limb
Bewitched in a tailspin
Perhaps it’s time
Time to win
But a double-headed coin, hence
Means you swim
In a fathomless lake
In a sea of doubt
Towards sharks on shore
In an ocean of trout
What the hell’s an ocean
On a road part taken
Besides travelling blues
Keep your head or you lose
Gotta learn to swim
Gotta learn to teach gym
Challenge undertaken
Joy forsaken
Give up your bacon
Know your station
Sink or swim
On the road part taken
