poem
Take flight dear desire
And rendezvous with me only in spring
To catch the lily buds turning
To burnish reason
Feel the warm blush of that wondrous season
And know by the lily buds turning
That the bounds of love come by fate’s own choosing
Desist the fires of intrigue
To catch among the displays
Among the lily buds
Tulips ready sprung
And the petals of rose in all their glory
Nature’s quest
The dignity of spring’s colorful array
Her Dreams
The acuity of life’s clear passage be gone
Behold the nuance of divine grace
And be judged in leniency
Not accosted on a whim
But in accordance with the rules of the heart
Make fair those rules that I may belong
Also fair, beside my great joy
Too late even beyond spring
To catch the leaves that have already begun to fall
Where the roses are no more
But scattered amidst fate’s shores
Frozen by time
Vestiges to a heart’s eternal calling
