The Antigone
The antitheses
Of a tacit kingdom
Bound by the pillars of Hercules
Amidst history’s fallen landmarks
Between her revolutions
Bygone solutions not ventured
Cancelled culture
And revised passages
Lurking amongst the truth
Just a glimmer of diamond sheen
Upon the pin point of a needle
One shred of truth
Befallen to all
The rise and fall
Or Rome’s most poignant moment
A crumbled empire
Was it not vulnerable at the outset
Before even one stone was turned
To be articulated by envy
And greed within her walls
Yet, those walls still stand
Millenniums in the sand
In time’s hourglass
Was not Socrates capable of explanation
And sculptured ruins the provider of all truth
Greatness cannot be expressed
On the premise of a greater lode
Take heed, repent if you must
Your empire need not be built of stone
When dust will suffice
And in the heavens too
Subsidence by greater empires of dust
Not yet settled by a thousand lost tribes
Nor a thousand years
But sought in vanity
From a thousand mistrusts
