So true, Trista -- it is subjective -- there are many prodigious exponents of subjective history -- I am not one for joining the clan -- so with my own biases firmly in place I make relatively objective judgements -- some are bias, but I am aware of them -- Many commentators of new-day history and philosophy often pertain to be such but have neither the knowledge nor inclination to be anything much, far as I can tell -- that is where fake news is born right there!
