Nice 'Thank Yous' Dan! -- Okayy, I was reading some WSBII - specifically "Junky" excerpts - I always thought Lou Reed's stuff was genius - especially lyrics such as in the love song to the narcotic 'Heroin" -- some of the best lines: "When I'm rushing on my run, And I feel just like Jesus' son, And i guess i just don't know..." -- Now turn to Burroughs: "The junk was sweet and I wasted pages getting wasted, rushing on my run, feeling like Jesus's son. And wasting your time, too."

As you were saying he was best American writer of C20th -- there's some good evidence! I am a little distraught that Lou didn't write it, not that he pretended to -- he did cite WB as an influence - although this is downright plagiarism I suppose! O well! Lou and his Velvets were still an awesome band!
