Mother’s Deceit
…all honesty
Do you still walk the streets, midnight beckons
You were once so courageous in that storm
Could summons the gamut in dead seconds
And dance as a demon of silver dawn
Do you still command flagrance, by army
Lead the charge with but a cursory glance
Your chosen path could perplex the swami
Neither sense nor wisdom might stand its chance
Do you still spar with the devil’s daughter
Do you hold retribution for that fend
Prophecies of seers doomed to slaughter
Is your sword still mightier than your pen
Did you pretend at a beautiful age
Doubtless, reckoned see a golden future
Overlook all rivals as if been caged
Underplay the past, lest be its tutor
Are we all doomed to abject poverty
Can we face the ruins by such a man
Were we not induced in all honesty
By mother’s deceit, to follow our plan
Stare down all defeats and our false conceits
Keep the faithful faithful, hold no lament
Stay true to truth, even truer to lies
Brave to all God’s sorrows, and those despised
