I would ask if Pontius Pilate existed, and if in the affirmative, then what parts of Pontius Pilate should we decide to believe -- all of it except the Jesus part? Did Mathew, Mark, Luke and John or the anonymities conspire? Did the Romans persecute the Christians for nothing? Whether you believe in Jesus' divinity or not -- it's near certain he existed!
