A world astray in slow decay
Seven toxic sages
From the nether drawn together
By the wisdom of the ages
What will be the lessons learned
Are we poised to sink or burn
What’s the price of deja vu
Do we need this extra churn
Where’s the point of no return
When do leaders get a turn
To watch the freak show from the screen
Grow in temperament so mean
Confront the law, vent their spleen
Where the hell is the A team
Or is it just a movie scene
To keep us from our life serene
Keep the numbers flowing past
Keep the oil flowing fast
Are they immune
They talk the tune
Send us to the shining moon
Eat up darkness by the spoon
Are we allowed to watch cartoons
We’ve done our homework
Been on zoom
Tweeted no one
Binged on Dune
Paid our bills before come due
Can I become a trustee too
I’ll behave and shave just like you
Exfoliate and clean my room
Be on the job not a moment too soon
Even if it means I have to start before noon
I know I can
I can win this thing
Be on parity with sister sin
Come of age without chagrin
Get a mortgage
Go shopping
Pay my loans
Never moan
Update the phone
Get a drone
I know I can
I can win this thing
