takes virtue to rue

You are not virtuous
A hypocrite never yet seen
Enter by the basement
As if Anne of Cleves
Bedroom doors ajar
Emergent scot-free
You’re the greatest of thieves
Except me …he-he
Your virtues come to nil
Your hide thick, wider still
Select a scheming path
Blazed on infractions of will
It’s the last will you’ll make
As you tear like snow flake
For the claim of your honor
Even lower than thieves, please!
When you cut up the proceeds
With those in the nosebleeds
All high on your rhetoric
They’ll take a dive just for you
They’ve defined all your antics
And all your surprise
Your habitual leanings
Your virtues — your lies
But you can’t stop them falling
Chips fall as they may
As long as they have ears
They can know that you care
You can seek out marauders
If and when you so dare
Cuz, you’ve built it on factions
And religious fanfare
But you can’t be forgiven
The truth always suffices
From the nosebleeds they see you
Apocryphal yet true
And all ’s not forgiven
It’ll take virtue to rue
