big, big love
Does time’s narrow passage widen or does it resist your grace
Will time stand still if separate ways each us doth take
Or does such things not exist in a world in which we’re apart
Where brightest stars and heaven’s vestiges only break agape
Can you make the walk of shame back whence you came
And plunder in the torment of a thousand loveless nights
Lest I conjure a spell upon the shackles of your burning heart
Or confess to you enchantment’s stolen abandon from the start
If I cast you to the far flung corners of the earth
Will you be my outcast, and is that who you’ll become
Or will you just be a stranger and sit alone in such a void
Neither angel nor demon and where balance is not buoyed
And if you were locked in those chains lovers embrace
What would it take to break the agony to set you free
Thence you may roam that darkened world not yet redeemed
Out of my embrace free for other things, would you flee
If I just call you but once on the minute, will you come
Wander the dark chasms of a hundred…
