Member-only story
a sonnet and prompt
The Australian outback roasts on fire
Germany seethes neath a water melee
India burns on the funeral pyre
The US west coast is fueled in a fray
New York’s been tamed but it looks like it’s rained
A hundred year storm began to submerge
The subway makes sure the city is drained
And Greenland’s ice sheet has begun its purge
The tundra thaws, greenhouse gases escape
Micro nations of the oceans soon sink
Antarctica cracks while losing its shape
King coal’s ready to deny there’s a link
And thus there is us to jump through the hoops
While China assures us of feedback loops
